00:00Will Priyanka Gandhi Vadra be the game-changer for the Congress in the next general election?
00:09Well, the party certainly hopes so because she's clearly now playing a bigger national
00:13role within the party. Last October, she resigned quietly as General Secretary in
00:17charge of Uttar Pradesh, where she was largely confined until now with very little success.
00:22However, she did succeed in steering the Congress to a win in Himachal Pradesh and
00:27played a big role in its Karnataka election campaign, where of course the Congress has
00:31had a very significant victory only recently. This is what the party is hoping to replicate
00:36in other states where elections are taking place later this year. Her big USP, of course,
00:40is her ability to connect with women voters and the fact that she seems to be a much more natural
00:47campaigner and a much more natural politician when even compared to her brother. Comes at a
00:53time when Rahul Gandhi also seems to have found his space within the party. He seems to be far
00:58more confident and more comfortable after the success of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, where his
01:03approval ratings have shot up, though he still remains far behind Mr Modi when compared to those
01:09one-on-one numbers. So, will Priyanka Gandhi make a difference to the Congress's campaign
01:14as we count down to the general elections? The state elections that are coming up now
01:19will be the ones to watch.
