00:00Well, these are some turbulent times for India's aviation sector with GoFirst, one of the country's
00:09budget airlines, suddenly filing for bankruptcy. GoFirst's announcement left thousands of people
00:15stranded in different parts of the country. Initially, they cancelled their flights for
00:19two days and have now extended that at least until the middle of May. And we don't know
00:24if and when they will actually be able to fly again. Now GoFirst's collapse is good
00:29news for other airlines which will obviously want to pick up their passenger load and it
00:34comes at a time when Indian aviation is actually booming because most airlines are reporting
00:38a more than 90% occupancy and this happens to be the peak travel season. But it's actually
00:43really bad news for passengers like you and me because airfares have already gone up on
00:47those sectors that GoFirst was operating on in particular. Ultimately, for India's aviation
00:53market to be more passenger friendly, we need more players and more competition. And that
00:59is what will help.
