The Opposition leader maintains her stance that the EMBD matter is race bait. Here's an update provided by Kamla Persad Bissessar following the PM's conference on Friday.

00:04today another useless press conference with him rehashing the quote-unquote
00:08same lazy talking points he used for years. She says quote no one cares he's a
00:13lame-duck whose only achievement in office is having no achievement while in
00:17office end quote. The opposition leader says while the Prime Minister gave
00:21himself a million dollar back pay and a 47% increase for life he only gave
00:27workers 4% and cannot account for the missing 3 billion dollars. She says the
00:32Prime Minister wants to shift the conversation to the UNC about a bogus
00:36case they still can't convince the court about. As it relates to cabinet notes
00:41minutes and details of decisions by the People's Partnership government to award
00:45contracts with hundreds of millions of dollars under the EMBD after the
00:50dissolution of Parliament Bassan Bassasa says it's the same old discredited news
00:54that's 10 years old and nothing new. She calls the PM's utterances a deliberate
00:59and coordinated racist propaganda campaign for the PNM ground troops used
01:04in the general election. She says the PNM's campaign for decades has always
01:09been to paint Indians as UNC voting thieves, idol worshipers, lagoon dwellers,
01:14rum drinkers and cane cutters who have no moral and spiritual values. She says
01:19the only persons who are ridiculed more than Indians who support the UNC are
01:23Afro-Trinidadians who oppose the PNM. Bassan Bassasa says quote this Rowley
01:29government specializes in race-baiting and dehumanizing others in order to
01:33deflect from the failure they have been to their own supporters end quote. She
01:39alleges PNM constituencies have the highest crime rates, worst infrastructure,
01:43highest unemployment and lowest opportunities. As it relates the PM's
01:48suggestions that attempts have been made to have the EMD matter thrown out of the
01:52court, the opposition leader says the matter is not one which law enforcement
01:56authorities have brought to the court and instead it is a civil matter. She
02:00claims it's a propaganda piece to attack the UNC brought on by a quote Rowley
02:05hand-picked EMBD board and drafted by Dunn's hand-picked PNM lawyers end quote.
02:11The opposition leader maintains the Prime Minister's attempts are election
02:14driven and intent on painting quote unquote all them Indian is thief. The
02:20opposition leader says the PNM got away with these attempts time and time again
02:24because no one called them out before and they are supported by pseudo
02:28intellectuals, weak men and eater food fake elites who are solely driven by
02:33financial gain from the government.
