00:00The Department of Agriculture, or DA, plans to impose a maximum suggested retail price, or MSRP,

00:07for each type of imported rice upon the implementation of new labeling regulations.

00:13Agriculture Secretary Francisco Chiu-Loreal Jr. provided examples of potential MSRPs

00:20for the new labeling rules. The agriculture chief also said this move aims to reduce the MSRP of 5%

00:28broken imported rice, which is currently set at 55 pesos per kilogram, to 52 pesos per kilogram

00:36by February 15, and further to 49 pesos per kilogram by March 1, 2025.
