00:00Her choices don't just affect her anymore.
00:02So is she a little more measured?
00:04Probably.
00:05Does she have time to worry so much about, you know,
00:07herself or picking on herself?
00:09Not as much, but similar, you know,
00:12familiarly, she is concerned about if she's measuring up.
00:15And we all relate to that.
00:17♪♪
00:19Is everything all right, Mrs. Darcy?
00:21Oh, my God.
00:23Hiya.
00:24I climbed a magical man tree.
00:25Hello.
00:26Um...
00:28After almost a decade,
00:30Bridget Jones is back on our TV screens.
00:32Renee Zellweger makes her return for the final installment
00:35in Michael Morris' Bridget Jones,
00:37Mad About the Boy.
00:38Others who are set to return and reprise their roles
00:40are Hugh Grant and Emma Thompson,
00:42along with some new faces joining the franchise.
00:45The new film follows Bridget wrestling with grief
00:47four years after Mark Darcy was killed
00:50while on a humanitarian trip in Sudan.
00:52However, Bridget pledges to live life to the fullest
00:54once more, after a dashing 29-year-old
00:57named Rockster, played by Woodall,
00:59comes along and gives her the summer a pure distraction.
01:02Rockster's maybe a lot more front-footed and honest
01:06about how he feels from the start
01:09and is very flirtatious with her
01:12and allows his smile for her to come through.
01:17And he's just sort of... He's a go-getter.
01:21And it's not a Bridget Jones story
01:23without another love interest in the mix,
01:25because her chemistry with science teacher,
01:26Mr. Wallacher, played by Ejiofor,
01:29is only getting more electric.
01:31It's even though he finds Bridget, like,
01:33I think, initially very chaotic
01:35and the way that she sort of...
01:37The sort of world around her is a bit destabilizing.
01:41I think he does come to understand,
01:43you know, quite quickly, just the inherent values
01:46of those things. And I also think that she sees
01:49in him that the sensitivity and the care that he takes,
01:54you know, as an educator and how seriously
01:56he takes that responsibility.
01:58While we all know Bridget to be full of humor
02:00and quirkiness, this new film revolves a lot
02:03around the grief of losing her husband.
02:05And you're never the same after you experience loss.
02:08And how does that manifest?
02:10You know, your perspective changes,
02:12your values change, how you communicate
02:14and what you want in your life
02:15inevitably changes as well.
02:18And now we're talking about, you know, a mother.
02:21So, her choices don't just affect her anymore.
02:24Though, is she a little more measured? Probably.
02:27Um, does she have time to worry so much about,
02:29you know, herself or picking on herself?
02:32Not as much, but similar. You know, familiarly,
02:35she is concerned about if she's measuring up.
02:39And we all relate to that, you know?
02:41Zellweger also talks about missing pal Colin Firth
02:44on set of the final installment.
02:46It was just so sad thinking this character
02:49that I love and I love Mark and Bridget was no more.
02:54But also, you know, just as my friend,
02:56I've shared this experience with him for 25 years
03:00and that that was coming to an end.
03:02That was, um, yeah, that really, uh, snuck up on me
03:07in a really heavy way.
