00:00The London Underground stations and tube lines with the most crime have been revealed.
00:04Kings Cross and Pancras have the most recorded crimes, followed by Oxford Circus and Totten
00:09Court Road, where passenger numbers have soared because of the interchange with the Elizabeth
00:14line. Stratford and Finsbury Park make up the other tube stations in the top five,
00:18according to crime statistics published by Transport for London.
00:22The Central line, one of the longest and busiest, topped the list with 1,419 crimes,
00:29making up 17% of the total. Next was the Northern line with 1,320 crimes,
00:37and the Piccadilly line came in third with 1,128. The Bakerloo line had the fewest,
00:44with just 370 crimes during the eight-month period, excluding the Waterloo and City line
00:52between Waterloo and Bank. In total, there were 16,288 crimes reported on the tube from January
01:01to August last year, a 13% increase compared to the year before. TfL said that crimes on
01:08the Underground were closely split, with 50% of the offences occurring on the train
01:14and 47% occurring at the station.
