00:28The fake QR codes appear to offer a quick and easy way to pay for parking by scanning
00:33instead of the official payment methods.
00:35However, once scanned, the QR code directs victims to a fraudulent website that mimics
00:40a real parking payment portal.
00:42Unsuspected drivers who enter their bank in detail but the parking payment is not recorded.
00:47The scam causes banking information to be stolen and allows criminals to access accounts.
00:52One driver who parked on the seafront had £170 taken from their bank account.
00:57Thankfully their bank was able to reimburse the stolen money.
