Two Taiwanese nationals pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court in Kuala Lumpur on Monday (Feb 10) to three counts of trafficking in firearms and possessing 900 rounds of ammunition last month.

The charge under Section 7 of the Firearms Increased Penalties Act 1971, read with Section

They were also charged under Section 36, Subsection 1 of the Arms Act 1960 with possessing an

If convicted, they face up to one year in prison, a fine not exceeding 5,000 ringgit,

Additionally, under Section 8, Subsection A of the Firearms Act 1971, they were charged

The offence carries a maximum sentence of 14 years in prison and six strokes of the

Judge Siti Shakira Motaruddin denied bail, citing the non-bailable nature of the offences,

and set March 12 for case mention.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Nizwan Abdul Latif prosecuted, while both accused remained unrepresented.
