00:00You should not be boiling your wooden spoons to clean them or, God forbid, putting them in the dishwasher.
00:06If your wooden spoons have stains or foul odors, there are a few things that you can do to help get rid of them.
00:11First off, sprinkle some coarse salt on your spoon. It also works on cutting boards.
00:16Do some lemon juice on there. It usually does the trick.
00:18Get yourself some distilled vinegar. Make a vinegar and water solution and soak your spoons in there for up to 20 minutes.
00:25But make sure the water is cold and not hot. We don't want to strip the wood of its natural oils.
00:31Get some refractioned coconut oil or liquid coconut oil because it doesn't go bad as fast as the hardened kind will.
00:39Get an old rag. Put it onto your wooden spoons. Rub it down.
00:43This will preserve the life of your spoon. Do this, like, once every three months or so or just whenever you see signs of wear and tear.
00:50And I promise your spoons will last a lifetime.
00:52Inspect your spoons regularly for cracks because once you start to see those, it's time to make them firewood.
