00:38after running afoul a reef in Balabac, Palawan on January 29.
00:43According to Restituto Comendador Junior, Captain of the MV Andre Sara, their fishing
00:48boat capsized in Onok Island in Balabac due to harsh weather causing them to be stranded
00:54in the area.
00:55Fortunately, there is a detachment unit of PCG on the said island to whom they called
01:01for help.
01:02That's what happened.
01:03It's a good thing that the rescue of the Coast Guard was swift and they asked for help.
01:17There were 37 fisherfolk who were aboard the fishing vessel.
01:2132 of them were ferried by the DAV4 ships back to San Jose on February 2.
01:26According to Comendador, five of them chose to stay in Balabac to look after what remained
01:31of their fishing gear and equipment after their boat was crushed by the waves.
01:51The bureau will also facilitate the coordination with other government agencies such as DSWD
01:57and DOLE to provide additional help for the fisherfolk.
