00:00St David's Hall in Cardiff has played host to a number of world-renowned acts, but for
00:06the last almost 18 months, it has been closed due to building work as RAAC Concrete, which
00:11is prone to failures as it ages, was found in the premises back in September 2023. It
00:17was initially unclear how long it would be closed, but it was estimated it would be opened
00:21again at some point in 2025. That no longer seems to be the case though, as builders say
00:25it will now be open sometime in autumn or winter 2026.
00:30Academy Music Group manages the site, and it has been said that they have not yet applied
00:34for listed build and maintenance, which is a requirement to get the next stage underway,
00:39so questions have been raised by councillors over why they have not yet been made aware
00:43of the delays.
00:45Councillor Rodney Berman asked why they are not yet being given the full information,
00:49but the Cabinet Member for Culture, Jennifer Burke, has said that she will share information
00:53as soon as she receives it, and is growing beyond frustrated with the current situation.
