00:00Ladies and gentlemen, so far the central government has spent 77 million dollars
00:08to improve the supply of water in Tobago. 54 million dollars have already been
00:16identified to spend on upcoming projects to improve the supply of water in
00:22Tobago and this Goldsboro water treatment plant is going to cost central
00:27government 50 million dollars bringing a total of 181 million dollars to
00:35improve the supply of the water for the people of Tobago. The project is
00:40set to start on Thursday and last 18 months. Minister Gonzalez said the
00:46government remains committed to the people of Tobago. 181 million dollars
00:52spent in Tobago to improve the supply of water and not one allegation of
00:57corruption. Not one allegation of corruption. This Goldsboro water
01:04treatment plant is three years in the making. Three years of hard work by my
01:10colleague in the Ministry of Planning and Development working to get access to
01:15IDB resources so that we can construct this plant here in Goldsboro.
01:20Minister Gonzalez said no matter the political party you represent, water for all the
01:25citizenry. That regardless of whether you vote PNM, regardless of whether you vote
01:29TPP, whether you vote PDP and all kind of names you all have for them in
01:35Tobago here, that we are all citizens of Trinidad and Tobago and therefore we are
01:40deserving of a reliable supply of water. He recalled when the PDP gained power in
01:46Tobago the warning that came from Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley in cabinet. It
01:51is the Honorable Prime Minister Champha Nyanaka tell you that when this new
01:57THA administration assumed office, the Prime Minister in the cabinet told us
02:03that any time he receives any complaint that any minister does not cooperate
02:08with the THA to serve the people of Tobago, he will have a dim view of such
02:13a minister and he will take the appropriate action. That was instructions
02:20given to every single minister. He gave a warning to the people of Tobago to be
02:25careful who they vote for come next THA elections. And when that day come, you
02:32will know who to put in charge of your affairs. Watch them carefully. Watch how
02:41they have conducted themselves when you put your trust in them. Ask them to
02:49account for the work that they have done when you put trust in them. Especially
02:56those who promise to do things better and to fix things.
