‘For people that need it, don’t cut it!’ Londoners on benefit bill

After a TikToker recieved backlash for ‘bragging’ about ADHD benefits, we ask Londoners whether they think the government should be fairer or harsher with benefit spending.

00:00They might just have been celebrating the fact that finally their basic needs are being met

00:04and they're not having to struggle in a world that's not designed for them anymore.

00:08You know, the benefits bill is obviously enormous and it's talked about regularly in newspapers

00:14but don't, you know, for people that need it, don't cut it.

00:19I mean, there's some people that absolutely rely on that money.

00:23I know not everybody likes to identify with it as a disability

00:27and that definitely can be a disadvantage.

00:29And wanting to talk about and highlight that that is a thing that is there

00:35and is accessible for people who might need it, again, I have no issue with that.

00:40Sure, you know, you've got to get the rest of us working, i.e. people, you know, like me.

00:47Who, you know, towards the end of their career, who might be slowing down and doing less.

00:53And they're the people we need to focus on.

00:56Making everyone working longer.
