00:10even as the House Speaker welcomed his counterpart and his entourage of Malaysian lawmakers and then

00:17later inaugurated a new wing of the Batasan Complex to honor a former and distinguished

00:28Several lawmakers are urging the National Price Coordinating Council to expedite the

00:34declaration of food security emergency in the country. During the fifth hearing of the House

00:39Kinta Committee, House Appropriations Panel Acting Chair Stella Kimbo questioned why the

00:44NPCC has not yet issued a resolution on the matter. This step is crucial to bringing affordable NFA

00:51rice to the market. For its part, the Department of Trade and Industry, which is part of the NPCC,

00:56assured the resolution's expected release in the coming days.

01:09Meanwhile, as the 2025 midterm elections drew near, the House Committee on Suffrage and Electoral

01:14Reforms continued their discussions on vital poll-related resolutions filed before them.

01:20One example is in Cagayan de Oro City, where there was allegedly a significant

01:24surge in the number of newly registered voters in one barangay.

01:29Here in Barangay Carmen, there are 21,000 new registrants in one barangay only.

01:36This number is statistically improbable and the congressmen are saying here in the

01:44Committee on Suffrage that the increase is disturbing.

01:50The House leadership warmly welcomed Malaysian House Speaker Tan Sri Dato Johari bin Abdul,

01:55along with other officials of the Malaysian Parliament, during their visit to the Batasang

02:00Pambansang. According to House Speaker Martin Romaldes, the good inter-parliamentary relations

02:06between the Philippines and Malaysia is a significant development for both countries.

02:10With this, the lower house also presented a resolution expressing sincere appreciation

02:16to the Malaysian delegation. We want to celebrate Philippine-Malaysian relations.

02:23The relationship, I know, keeps getting stronger year by year.

02:27Prior to this, Romaldes also met former House Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr. during the inauguration

02:33of a new museum and building at the Batasan Complex, which was named after the former
