00:00Funding for a garden centre, Deloitte's latest football money league and the

00:04acquisition of a golf tour operator all feature in today's business briefing and

00:15Good morning Robin. Good morning Jen. So I believe you have some news in Sheffield

00:19this morning. Yes I do, always come to the briefing with a story from Sheffield.

00:24So today is about a landmark building over in Sheffield which straddles the

00:27Sheffield and Tinsley Canal Basin and so it dates back to the 1880s and it was a

00:32former grain warehouse then it was an office until 2021 and then now it's been

00:37empty for a couple of years and so the new plans are to turn it into apartments

00:41and so Urban Front Reality has submitted planning and listed building

00:45application at Sheffield City Council for the straddle at Victoria Quays and

00:49so what they're planning to do is create 27 apartments and there'll be a mix of

00:53one two and three beds and so yeah really nice to kind of have a new use

00:56there when it's been unused for a while. Brilliant, great news for Sheffield.

00:59Absolutely. Well over in Dorset now, a family-run

01:03garden centre has confirmed that it has expanded to a fourth location in the

01:07South Downs National Park and your local garden centre already has locations

01:12across the south coast of England including two centres in Hampshire and

01:16another in Warwickshire. The business has now secured a £600,000

01:20loan from Lloyds Banking Group through its Clean Growth Finance

01:26initiative and funding is set to enhance the energy efficiency of the new

01:30site in Linden Vale. It will be built with solar panels and renewable

01:36appliances in line with plans to become carbon neutral by 2028 and the project

01:40has created more than 40 jobs and established a family-friendly facility

01:44within the local community. Oh sounds great. So I've now got a story for us

01:49from Hertfordshire and so golf travel operator Golf Holidays Direct has been

01:55acquired by a travel agency which is owned by Betfred's Fred Doan. So I don't

02:00know if you're a golfer Jen? I'm not. No but if you were then you'd probably be

02:05familiar with Golf Holidays Direct as they have over 50,000 golfers travelling

02:10with them every year, they have destinations in 21 countries throughout

02:14the world, so a really big sort of operator in that area. They've now been

02:19acquired by Sports Tours International which was founded back in 1973 but in

02:24the last couple of years has doubled in size and so this latest acquisition is

02:29another kind of key part of their growth and they've said that the idea behind

02:32the acquisition was to become the largest sports travel group in the UK

02:37so exciting times there too. Brilliant, well finally on the topic of sport

02:42Deloitte Sport Business Group has released its latest Football Money League

02:47and so Robin are you a fan of football? Yes but only Sheffield United. Well

02:53unfortunately Sheffield United have not made the top 20 in the league this year so now in its

02:5928th edition the report has revealed the 20 highest generating football clubs

03:03for the 2023-24 season. So Real Madrid have become the first club to surpass

03:081 billion euro of revenue in a single season which has secured its position at

03:13the top of the league and they're followed by Manchester City, PSG,

03:17Manchester United and Bayern Munich and the top 20 revenue generating clubs in

03:22the world also made a record 11.2 billion euro for the season which marks

03:26a 6% increase in cumulative revenues from the previous season. So you can
