00:08ceremony for the official visit of the Federated Republic of Brazil's Minister
00:13of External Relations Mauro Vieira. Trinidad and Tobago's Foreign and
00:18CARICOM Affairs Minister Dr. Amory Brown thanked the Bithumb Vibrations
00:22Steel Orchestra for their participation which was also recognized by Minister
00:27Vieira who is on his first official visit to the Caribbean. Thank you so much
00:32for this warm welcome with both national anthems played in your national
00:39instruments that's a big honor for us I thank you very much. Minister Brown also
00:45acknowledged the importance of the ceremony regarding the length of time
00:49Trinidad and Tobago and Brazil have enjoyed what Minister Vieira called warm
00:53relations. Today is a very special occasion for us because we mark 60 years
01:03of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and the
01:09Federated Republic of Brazil. It will be also the sixth year of the first
01:15Brazilian ambassador coming to Trinidad and Tobago. Our countries have a lot in
01:21common we share the same principles and the same goals we are countries of peace
01:28and we want to promote peace and understanding and cooperation in our
01:33respective regions. Minister Vieira said Brazil looks to the Caribbean as
01:38countries close to the South American Republic's heart. We consider the
01:44Caribbean and Trinidad and Tobago very important countries a very important
01:50country in the very important region to the the promotion of peace and
01:56understanding and the participation in regional organizations. Brazil produces
02:03oil and natural gas on a larger scale than Trinidad and Tobago as both nations
02:07seek to adhere to a global agreement in favor of the environment. We can also
02:13exploit the possibilities of cooperations in the areas of energy
02:17which are very important and with a view to something that will happen in
02:24Brazil this year by the end of the year which is very important not only for
02:29Trinidad and Tobago and Brazil but to our region and the whole world which is
02:33the COP, the Conference of Parties COP 30 of the United Nations Framework
02:39Agreement on Climate Change. Minister Brown reflected on the sentiments
02:43expressed by Minister Vieira. Brazil and Trinidad and Tobago share a number of
02:50principles in common in particular a focus on peace and development, a focus
02:59on South-South collaboration, a focus on ensuring that the Caribbean Sea remains
03:07and is maintained as a zone of peace. The Foreign and Caricom Affairs Minister
03:13said Brazil's partnership is important to the people and the government of
