00:00Miguel Almaron could soon leave Newcastle, as Joe Buck has been explaining.

00:04This week could be key. I think there's a couple of deals working on in the background

00:07that if they can work on them, if they can get one or two of them done, then maybe that

00:11could unlock a potential for them to go sign someone for the rest of the window.

00:15Them two deals I'm talking about, of course, Miguel Almaron and Lloyd Kelly. First we'll

00:19talk about Almaron. He's been linked with a move back to the MLS. Charlotte FC will

00:22link with him in the summer, but it seems they're going to move down a different direction.

00:27But Almaron's still been linked with the MLS, because Atalanta United apparently are one

00:32to watch in this. David Ornstein on Wednesday night broke the news that Newcastle were in

00:36advance talks with Atalanta over a potential move for Almaron. It's worth about £10 million,

00:41so not anywhere near what they paid for him. Of course, they paid £21 million for Almaron

00:46from Atalanta back in 2019, but any sort of fee, especially around the £10 million mark,

00:51could unlock their potential to go and get a player, either in this month or certainly

00:56in summer. That'll just help them on their balance sheet.
