With Leeds temperatures not getting higher than freezing and set to feel like -11, the birdlife at Yeadon Tarnfield Park is getting to grips with the largely-frozen lake.

00:12the largely frozen lake. There are no boats or kayaks in action, but it has been sunnier,
00:17with sleet showers not returning and warmer temperatures expected towards the end of the
00:21week into next. Meanwhile, Leeds City Council have issued a cold weather update as bin collections
00:27in Leeds continue to be impacted. They've said if a scheduled collection is missed,
00:31residents are advised to leave their bin out, and the waste team will do their best to empty
00:35it by Sunday 12th January. Extra waste will also be taken if it's left in a securely tied
00:41bag and placed by the bin. Gritting teams have been prioritising primary routes, and
00:46the council have been directing people to their Winter Wellbeing and Welcome Spaces
00:50campaigns online to help residents find spaces to keep warm should they be needed.
