00:22which is regarded as one of the best spots
00:24here in the city for rotisserie chicken.
00:26Their menu is easily topped here,
00:28but I'm pitting it against none other
00:30than Quebec's very own chain restaurant,
00:32Saint-Hubert Barbecue.

00:36Chances are if you grew up in Quebec,
00:38you grew up eating Saint-Hubert,
00:40then you can never go wrong.
00:41All right, so how is this gonna work?
00:43Well, I'll be ordering the same dish from each restaurant,
00:45chicken, french fries, and salad,
00:47and testing out the cost, presentation,
00:50and flavor of both to see which one comes out on top.

01:23and that comes with half a chicken,
01:24a serving of french fries, and salad.
01:26It looks so good, such a huge portion,
01:2918 bucks after tax, can't go wrong.
01:31I'm also sat right beside where they cook the chickens,
01:35and it's so hot, but I'm pushing through,
01:38and I'm doing it, and we're gonna have the chicken first,
01:40so let's give it a taste.

01:50The chicken is so good.
01:53I've been to Montpellier so many times before,
01:55but when you come back, it's as if you're eating it
01:58for the first time again.
01:59The flavor, the succulent chicken, can't go wrong.

02:07because it's my favorite cut of fries,
02:10and they're one of my favorites to begin with, so.

02:34so, and the dressing looks really good too.
02:41And it's a bomb salad.

02:47All right, so I just got done with Mapoule Mouillé.
02:50So delicious, can't go wrong,
02:51but I got a rubric to follow.
02:54I gotta give it a score.
02:55So when it comes to cost, 18 bucks, huge portion.

03:04every single bite was a burst of flavor.

03:22and its taste sort of speaks for itself.
03:24I'm a little worried for Saint-Hubert,

03:27But we still have to give everyone a fair chance.

05:31than the hand-cut style fries that I usually like.
05:33But you can't really go wrong with these.

05:43So the coleslaw's bomb.
05:45I prefer coleslaw than something like a mixed
05:48like garden salad with a meal like this,
05:50only because the crunch of the cabbage in the coleslaw
05:53just is sort of the texture I'm sort of looking for.
05:57So yeah, I have a lot to think about.

06:07If we take into consideration the criteria costs,

06:14I would say when it comes to cost for Saint-Hubert,
06:16not bad at all,
06:17but still more expensive than Mapoule Mouillé,
06:19so I'm giving them a score on five.
06:22When it comes to flavor, yo, it was pretty bomb,
06:26especially with the barbecue sauce.
06:27The chicken was very succulent, very juicy,
06:29lots of flavor, so I'm giving that a solid score on five.
06:33And then when it comes to presentation,
06:34very neat, very organized.
06:36I love when everything is sort of separate.
06:38So definitely a solid four and five on that as well.
06:42Okay, it's the very next day.
06:44I have had time to thaw out from the cold.
06:46I've had time to eat my Mapoule Mouillé leftovers.
06:49Y'all, it's verdict time.
06:53So the winner of this food battle
06:55is Mapoule Mouillé with a total score of 13 out of 15,
06:59whereas Saint-Hubert came in with a 12 out of 15.
07:02So Mapoule Mouillé only won by the skin of its teeth
07:05or the chicken skin of its teeth.
07:08But honestly, it all came down to the chicken's flavor.
07:10Mapoule Mouillé, the Portuguese chicken,
07:12the spice blend that they use,
07:14it's just an explosion in your mouth every time you have it.
07:18And it could stand alone.
07:20You don't really need a side.
07:21You don't need anything to accompany the meal.
07:23The Mapoule Mouillé chicken is just fire on its own.
07:27Whereas Saint-Hubert, the chicken is good.
07:29Great even, don't get me wrong.
07:31But you need a little barbecue sauce sometimes.
07:33You need a little ketchup in order to make it perfect.
07:36So it really comes down to whatever secret
07:38Mapoule Mouillé has on that chicken,
07:40and it did them justice.
07:41But there is only one Mapoule Mouillé here in Montreal.
07:45Yes, only one located here in the Plateau.
07:48So if you can't get your hands on Mapoule Mouillé,
07:49Saint-Hubert is obviously your next best bet
07:52for rotisserie chicken.
