00:00Sydney's iconic harbour, revellers began arriving well in advance of the New Year's celebrations

00:05to ensure they get a prime spot to see the city's famed fireworks,

00:09many of them having travelled from afar.

00:13I have been flying for about 30 or 40 hours, yes. We just want to take the best viewpoints

00:22and we want to take a live photo, you know.

00:25Australia will be among the first countries to ring in 2025 after the South Pacific Nations

00:30and New Zealand, and for those gathered here, it's a show they wouldn't miss for the world.

00:36I think it's going to be pretty impressive. I'm reading there's like the most fireworks ever.

00:40It's pretty iconic. The view here is amazing. So yeah, just really excited for it.

00:44We came here because like the fireworks are very famous and it's like a bucket list.

00:48So yeah, we came to check it.

00:51And for these visitors from Minnesota,

00:53celebrating New Year's at the height of summer is a welcome novelty.
