00:00Sabah PKR Youth has urged authorities to investigate several allegedly failed projects implemented

00:07during Warisan President Shafi'i Abdul's tenure as Federal, Rural and Regional Development

00:12Minister.

00:13Sabah PKR Youth Communications Director Fikri Gobid said these projects were carried out

00:18between 2010 and 2015, but had not fulfilled their intended purpose.

00:23He said one of them was a RM93 million water supply system for Pulau Gaya, which was probed

00:29by the Public Accounts Committee in 2017.

00:32Fikri said another controversial project was the RM45 million water treatment plant in

00:37Seporna, which failed to fulfill the locals' water supply demand.

00:42He said this leakage reflected serious weaknesses in the planning and implementation of infrastructure

00:47projects in Sabah.

00:49Fikri also questioned the lack of comprehensive studies and evaluations for the projects,

00:53which resulted in the wasteful use of public funds.

00:57Shafi'i was Rural and Regional Development Minister from 2009 to 2015, under then-Prime

01:02Minister Najib Razak.
