00:00A Sabah PKR leader has called for the state chapter's election, slated for April, to
00:07be postponed so that its machinery can focus on the upcoming state election.
00:11Sabah PKR Vice-Chairman Roslan Sapar said this was necessary to prevent any division
00:16that might arise as members vie for positions, especially as unity within the party was crucial
00:22in facing the state polls.
00:24Roslan, the Kalabakan PKR chief, added that all 25 PKR division chiefs in Sabah had agreed
00:30with the proposal to delay the state chapter's polls.
00:33He said the request is in the interest of the party, adding that it is not to oppose
00:37the central leadership's decision.
00:40The election for PKR's central leadership council will be held in May, while the polls
00:44for divisions as well as the women's and youth wings will be held in April.
00:48Sabah must hold its state election by the end of the year.
00:51The current state assembly will automatically dissolve by October, after which a state
00:55election will need to be held within 60 days.
