00:10Jasin OCPD Deputy Superintendent Ahmad Jamil Razi identified the deceased as 19-year-old

00:18Nurul Shafiqah Nasruddin from Kampung Ulu Rokan, Gemence, Negeri Sembilan and Nurhanis

00:24Afrina Azizan, also 19, from Felda Selancar, Muadzam Shah, Pahang.

00:30The injured were 20-year-old Nurhanis Suraya Supian from Taman Setongkol Phase 2, Kwantan,

00:37Pahang, who was driving the car, and 21-year-old Azwa Lydia Azman from Kampung Baru Telok Gong,

00:44Port Klang, Selangor.

00:45According to DSP Ahmad Jamil, the accident occurred at 6.20 am on Thursday at kilometre

00:52187.6 of the northbound highway.

00:56The car, driven by Nurhanis Suraya, skidded and veered into the emergency lane.

01:01Nurul Shafiqah, seated in the front passenger seat, and Nurhanis Afrina, seated in the rear,

01:08were pronounced dead at the scene.

01:10The driver sustained leg injuries, while the other injured passenger suffered minor wounds.

01:17The group of students was travelling from Johor to Malacca when the incident occurred.

01:22An investigation is underway under Section 41, Subsection 1 of the Road Transport Act

01:271987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.

01:32Meanwhile, Malacca Fire and Rescue Department Officer Mohamed Hanif Mustafa stated that

01:39a distress call was received at 6.23 am and rescue personnel from the Jasin Bastari Fire

01:45Station were dispatched to the scene.

01:47The injured victims were subsequently rushed to Malacca Hospital for treatment.
