00:02A first-year university student was killed and two friends injured in an accident at
00:08kilometer 25.4 of the Kuala Lumpur Karak Highway on Sunday night.
00:13The victim, 20-year-old Nurul Shakira Muhammad Nizam, was a law and sharia student from
00:19University Science Islam Malaysia, USIM.
00:23Her friends, Nurul Huda Muhammad Hassan and Nurul Sakina Hashim are receiving treatment
00:30at Hospital Selayang.
00:32Gomba Deputy OCPD Superintendent Abang Kaderi Abang Wasli said police received a report
00:39on the incident at kilometer 25.2 at about 7.20pm.
00:44The students were reportedly on their way to Nilay to begin the new semester when Nurul
00:49Shakira lost control of her car, causing it to skid and crash into a road divider.
00:55She was thrown onto the road and pronounced dead at the scene.
00:59The case is being investigated under Section 41 Subsection 1 of the Road Transport Act 1987.
