Two separate fatal road accidents occurred in Melaka on Sunday (November 16) .

At around 8am, a 26-year-old businessman was killed when his sports car collided with a bus travelling from the opposite direction along Jalan Krubong–Sungai Badau.

Meanwhile, on the North-South Expressway, a 25-year-old man was killed when his car lost control on and crashed into a roadside barrier.

00:00A 26-year-old businessman was killed when his sports car collided head-on
00:06with an oncoming bus along Jalan Grubong Sungai Badao.
00:10Malaka Tengah OCPD Assistant Commissioner Christopher Patit
00:14identified the victim as Chong Chi Tong from Taman Ozana Impian.
00:19He said Chong died at the scene of the 8 a.m. crash on Sunday,
00:23while the 34-year-old bus driver suffered minor injuries.
00:26A.C.P. Christopher said the car was heading towards Grubong Perdana
00:31when the driver lost control and veered into the opposite lane, crashing into the bus.
00:36The bus was en route to the Malaka Central Bus Terminal and could not avoid the collision.
00:42There were no passengers on board at the time of the crash.
00:45Preliminary checks found clear weather and dry road conditions.
00:48The case is being investigated under Section 41, Subsection 1 of the Road Transport Act, 1987.
00:56In a separate incident, a 25-year-old man was killed when his car skidded on the North-South Expressway
01:03and crashed into a roadside crash barrier at the 219-kilometer mark of the southbound stretch.
01:10The Malaka Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call at 9.44 a.m.
01:16and deployed 10 personnel from the Alor Gaja Fire and Rescue Station.
01:20The team found a wrecked maivey with the driver dead at the scene
01:24and later extricated the victim before handing the case over to the police.
