00:00When did you first get into Korean culture?
00:05When I was in class 8, my friends used to talk about K-dramas and K-bands and K-pop music.
00:14So I was really curious to know about what is all this.
00:20So then I started watching some K-dramas on Netflix.
00:25Like my first drama was It's Okay to Not Be Okay.
00:28And it was really touching.
00:30That really like lifted my mood and it was like so emotional.
00:37So I really loved that drama.
00:39And the lead actress Yo-Yeo-Ji, she was wearing beautiful dresses in that.
00:45And I really liked her fashion sense.
00:47You had to convince your mom to allow you to watch It's Okay to Not Be Okay.
00:53So why was she not allowing you to watch the K-drama?
00:58She was not knowing about it that time about K-dramas.
01:04So I introduced it to her.
01:06And then she was like, okay, you may watch it.
01:09So she was not familiar to the K-drama culture.
01:13So that as well.
01:15Okay.
01:15And who recommended It's Okay to Not Be Okay to you?
01:19Yeah, my friend recommended it to me.
01:22She is also like all the time into K-dramas.
01:26So she recommended me to watch that.
01:29And many of my friends also watched that.
01:32So how did Go Moon-Young's character inspire your fashion sense?
01:39You mentioned you really like Moon-Young's fashion sense.
01:45She wore short dresses.
01:46And I like short dresses a lot.
01:49And the skirts, the mini skirts, which are famous in Korea.
01:53Like I feel like I will look good in those dresses.
01:59So I started wearing mini skirts.
02:02I ordered it from Amazon.
02:04And when I go to Mumbai, I buy a lot of Korean outfits for myself.
02:11Can you tell a little bit about what you're wearing?
02:14This is a turtleneck, high neck type of high neck.
02:18And I'm wearing a mini skirt right now with belt.
02:22I also have an oversized coat, but I'm not wearing it right now.
02:27But that looks fabulous.
02:29And I'm also wearing stockings, which will go with boots.
02:33So I love wearing black.
02:36Are you into any skincare trends as well?
02:40Yes, I buy a lot of masks, Korean masks.
02:44I also have it right here.
02:47Can you tell me about these two different masks?
02:50These are the same masks.
02:51And we have to like put it on our face.
02:55And then we leave it for 15 minutes.
02:58And the serum like goes into your face and it gets all absorbed.
03:03And the leftover serum in the packet,
03:05we have to apply it after we remove that mask.
03:10So it gives a glass skin effect.
03:12And it also hydrates our skin and makes it plump.
03:16Is there any other Korean skincare products that you use?
03:20I do have blushes like blush powder and concealer
03:26and sponge makeup sponge, which are common in Korea.
03:30So and lip tints and lip balms.
03:35And I also like wearing jewelries like star shaped jewelries and necklaces.
03:41And where do you buy these products from?
03:45Like whenever I go to Mumbai, there are shops,
03:47there are outlets which sell these Korean products.
03:51And also there are stores like Miniso and Zinni Vogue.
03:55Like they are Korea based.
03:57So this is from Zinni Vogue.
04:01And this is a blackberry and berry mix face mask.
04:05And this one is aloe vera face mask.
04:08In Patna, glass skin is becoming very popular, you know.
04:12So apart from putting these masks, how else do you maintain glass skin?
04:18My friends only suggested me that you should like take some rice water
04:23and then you freeze them in the refrigerator.
04:27And then you whenever you feel like you are stressed or something like that,
04:31you just take the ice cube and then you rub it on your face and you relax.
04:37So that will also help in the nourishment of the skin.
04:40When you go to Mumbai, you buy like Korean clothes.
04:46But are you able to also buy Korean clothes in Bihar?
04:49Is it because Korean culture, like you said,
04:51other girls, your friends are following.
04:53Is it becoming popular in Bihar too?
04:56It is becoming popular.
04:58Like where there is Zinni Vogue, one Korean brand shop,
05:03there is another shop which is like an outlet.
05:07And they sell Korean miniskirts and like oversized shirts.
05:11So it is not very popular, but it is becoming popular now.
05:17Like few years back, there was no Korean products available.
05:20But in recent times, it has gained popularity.
05:24What do you think is so different about Korean clothes and fashion,
05:30you know, that you like it so much?
05:32Like why do you think it's different and more your taste?
05:36I feel like in India, people wear long dresses and they cover the full body.
05:42But in Korea, like miniskirts.
05:45Like it is so cute to wear those kinds of skirts.
05:49Like in India, people wear long skirts.
05:52But in Korea, they wear short skirts.
05:54And here in India, people wear colorful dresses.
05:58But in Korea, there are certain colors.
06:02Like most of the people wear like black, gray.
06:05So that is a difference in India and in Korea.
06:09Do you also listen to K-pop?
06:12I used to listen like BTS and Blackpink and TXT.
06:17Like in my school, there are dance competitions.
06:21So they dance on these songs like Butter and Dynamite.
06:26Like what is your favorite Korean song?
06:28From the same drama, It is okay to not be okay.
06:32There is a song called Breathe.
06:34So I used to listen to it, but it is in Korean.
06:37So I won't be able to sing that song.
06:39So you're not following K-pop so much anymore?
06:43I used to like listen to them earlier, but I follow K-dramas more than K-pop.
06:49So why do you follow K-dramas more than K-pop?
06:53Like I love the emotional things in K-dramas.
06:58Like I really love the emotion they show.
07:02And how they like the drama, It is okay to not be okay.
07:06It shows that how mental health is important for a person.
07:11That is really important.
07:13And I've also watched many K-dramas like Business Proposal, True Beauty.
07:18And in True Beauty, I really love their school life, high school life.
07:24You are in 10th standard right now, right?
07:27Do you resonate the themes of the K-drama with your own life?
07:34That mental health is important and how to live your high school life or what to experience.
07:39Are you inspired by those?
07:42Very much inspired.
07:43I also want to live a life like...
07:46They go for karaoke and they sing with their friends.
07:50So I also want to do that.
07:52It is really interesting that they go to soundproof rooms and they just sing with their friends.
08:00So I also want to enjoy that with my friends.
08:04And do you have any karaoke places in Bihar?
08:08Has that concept come about yet?
08:10I don't think so, like not in Bihar.
08:13But maybe what we can do is like we can go into a room and we can play non-stop music
08:22and we can sing with our friends.
08:23When did you first try Korean food?
08:27I think in class 9.
08:30There's a 9 to 9 shop over here.
08:33So I went there and I saw so many cup noodles and so many ramen which were like Korean.
08:40So I have here.
08:42I do have one over here.
08:45Where did you buy these Korean food, by the way?
08:49From 9 to 9.
08:50There is a store nearby.
08:52So we go there and we buy all these.
08:55And also tteokbokki.
08:56Like it is really famous in Korea.
08:58So it is also available in 9 to 9.
09:01So I really love the sweet taste of it.
09:04So have you made tteokbokki at home?
09:07Yes, it was chewy.
09:08They were the rice cakes.
09:10So they were really chewy.
09:12So what are your favorite Korean dishes?
09:16I tried kimchi.
09:17So it was on cabbage and I really liked it.
09:21And ramen noodles which are available everywhere right now.
09:25I really love the taste of ramen.
09:28Is there any restaurants in Patna that have opened for Korean food now?
09:33Yeah, there is one.
09:35I don't remember the name.
09:37But there is one.
09:38Recently it has opened.
09:40Your mom and you went to Varanasi, I think earlier this year.
09:46And you guys tried this Korean food.
09:51So tell me a little bit about that experience.
09:54We went there and there was a Seon cafe.
09:57So we went there and there were like tables
10:02where people could sit down on the ground and they could enjoy eating.
10:07So I ate some noodles, Korean noodles.
10:11And my mother took some chow mein or something.
10:15So when are you next planning to have Korean food?
10:19What are you looking forward to next?
10:22Whenever I go to Mumbai, I would definitely go to the restaurant
10:26and I would eat Korean food, new Korean food.
10:29Would you want to move to South Korea at some point and live there?
10:36I would really enjoy over there.
10:38And I want to wear the dress hanbok.
10:41And I will definitely go to the cherry blossom and I would enjoy over there.
10:48Like the trees are all pink with blossoms.
10:51What are your plans for the future?
10:53Like when you grow up, what do you want to, what do you see yourself as?
10:58Right now, I don't really know what I'll do.
11:02But I'll definitely try to go to Korea as a solo trip.
11:07And I would really enjoy over there.
11:10So I want to go to Korea, see all in South Korea.
11:15Do you want to study?
11:16Like, are you considering like studying in South Korea by any chance?
11:21Maybe.
11:22Right now, I don't know that.
11:24But if I get an opportunity, I would definitely do.
