00:08Captain Deadpool Warren, the champion at Light Heavyweight Division coming in here and talking

00:11to us now.

00:12Jared, thanks so much for joining us.

00:13We're looking forward to this fight.

00:14You defending your title against the Richmond, the Marine, of course.

00:18We'll talk about that in just a couple minutes, but first, I want to talk about what you guys

00:22have been going through down there, obviously, for people who may have missed it.

00:25We talked about it on our Thanksgiving show kind of at the end, trying to get some love

00:28out there.

00:29We had a few fights before that when it first happened as well, but, you know, you and Crystal

00:33Pittman, of course, down there in Tampa going through some tough times after the storms

00:39that ripped through there, the back-to-back hurricanes that ripped through the Florida

00:42area.

00:43Tell us about what was going on, what happened with you guys and your house and the flooding

00:47and how things have been since.

00:49Oh, man, it's been a, it was definitely a rough go the last few months.

00:56Yeah, the hurricanes hit us hard, flooded my house really bad, lost, you know, the majority

01:03of everything I own.

01:04We had to, you know, throw away all of our furniture, you know, pull up all our floors,

01:09pull out all the walls because, you know, once it soaks in, it can create mold real

01:14easily.

01:15So, you know, the house was completely gutted and, you know, we've been, we were doing a

01:22mix between staying in hotels and Airbnbs and towards the end, I had a buddy loan me

01:27his RV.

01:28So, we, you know, we're living in that for a couple of months, but, you know, just been

01:34grinding, man.

01:35You know, I haven't been able to take off work during the period, but when I wasn't

01:40at the fire department, you know, working on the house, had, you know, a couple of key

01:45good friends helping me out and, you know, now we're on kind of the other side of it.

01:51A couple of weeks ago, we were finally able to start sleeping back in the house.

01:56You know, it's not finished.

01:57We still got a lot of finishing touches to do, but overall, it's been coming around nice

02:02and it's really awesome to be able to, you know, sleep in the house and, you know, start

02:08to get a feel of normalcy back.

02:11I'm sure it has, you know, when you have all the things you're going through, not just

02:14the, you know, the breakdown of everything and the loss of what you have, but, you know,

02:17then you got to deal through insurance and all their, you know, BS as they try to mess

02:21with you as you're trying to just get your life back together.

02:23And as you said, you know, you being a firefighter, it's not like you could just say, all right,

02:26I'm going to go take some time here and deal with my issues because it wasn't just you,

02:29you know, hit hard there as well.

02:31You know, of course, it happened at a terrible time too, because I know you guys were supposed

02:36to be in a whole shift MMA and shift combat sports supposed to be out there in Spain supporting

02:41Dave Mundell.

02:42Unfortunately, I know you guys couldn't.

02:43What was it like though, from your perspective as, you know, a firefighter, as a first responder

02:47out there dealing with not just, you know, your own issues and your own problems there,

02:50but you're trying to help people through their stuff.

02:52What has it been like for the community at large dealing with those issues, the issues

02:55and the flooding and all the seawater and stuff that came in to the area and messing

02:59people's lives?

03:00Yeah.

03:01Yeah.

03:02A lot of people got hit hard and, you know, whenever I'm at work, I was able to see a

03:10lot of that.

03:11And, you know, I would try and, you know, at least communicate with them some, you know,

03:17some of the people, they try and lean on you and be like, yeah, you know, we lost everything,

03:21this and that.

03:22I'm like, well, probably doesn't make you feel any better, but, you know, the rest of

03:26us aren't immune to it.

03:27I was like, it happened to myself as well, but, you know, hopefully we can all, you know,

03:32push through and in a few months won't be anything but, you know, a bad memory.

03:37But it's, yeah, it's definitely been, it's been trying, you know what I mean?

03:46Most of the time I just would work and when I was on my days off, I would put my time

03:50into training and, you know, didn't have a lot of things I had to do otherwise besides

03:55your typical day-to-day stuff.

03:57But, you know, that completely changes.

04:00Working on the house, sunup to sundown and, you know, not till we got to the eight-week

04:07point from the fight, you know, I kind of had to start changing it up and be like, listen,

04:11I'm going to work until, you know, four or five o'clock and then I'm going to go, I got

04:16to go to the gym and I got to put in my time there because, you know, it's a very unforgiving

04:20sport and it's up to you whether you show up or not.

04:24And if you show up and you're not ready, then that's on you.

04:27So I'm not going in with any excuses.

04:30I never considered canceling this fight.

04:35You know, it just adds a little bit of extra adversity to it.

04:39But at the end of the day, I feel good.

04:42I feel strong.

04:43I feel ready to go in there and dominate.
