00:02Luigi Mangione has been indicted for the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson,
00:07with charges upgraded to first-degree murder and furtherance of terrorism,
00:10prosecutors announced on Tuesday. Mangione allegedly shot Thompson on December 4th
00:15outside a midtown Manhattan hotel as the CEO headed to an investors conference.
00:19He also faces multiple weapons charges, including possession of a ghost gun,
00:24silencer and forged documents. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg stated the killing
00:29was intended to evoke terror, calling it premeditated and targeted. Mangione remains
00:34in custody in Pennsylvania, where he was arrested on December 9th after a week on the run.
