00:00While Christmas is just around the corner, and the year 2024 is just around the corner,
00:11it's good to think that we have a lot to be thankful for.
00:16The children in SOS Children's Village in Zaraga, Iloilo,
00:20the whole family is praying this Christmas.
00:24A single mom is one of the people who gave them the love of their family
00:30this Christmas, full of gratitude.
00:34Zhenki Lantang-Sasa of GMA Regional TV is here with us.
00:43They say that Christmas is for the children,
00:46but not all children feel the colorful and happy feeling of Christmas.
00:54There are some who feel lonely every day.
00:58But again, their parents abandoned them and they have nowhere to go home.
01:05Their concern is now being fulfilled by SOS Children's Village in Zaraga, Iloilo.
01:12We empower them to reach for their goals also.
01:15We also make sure for the community as part of the preventive approach
01:20that they cannot be separated from their family.
01:22We have our family strengthening program also.
01:26One of the residents here is Joe.
01:28He was just one year old when he was brought to the village.
01:32He is the youngest of four siblings.
01:34According to him, he wants to finish school and see his father again.
01:40After school, I will go to work.
01:45After work, I will go back to my family.
01:48Because just a few days before Christmas,
01:50Mitch and some children in the center
01:53want to have a complete family that their house mother will take care of.
01:58I want to be happy.
01:59If I don't have a complete family, I won't be happy on Christmas.
02:06One of the children who fulfilled their wish and reached for help was Nivia.
02:12She knows how hard it is to have no parents.
02:15Especially her pregnant daughter, who was also left by her ex-partner.
02:19But instead of planting seeds and being sad inside,
02:22she tried to make her life better with her children.
02:26We were blessed that her business was okay.
02:30I chose SOS because of the children.
02:34They are neglected children, abandoned, and orphans.
02:38For me, I chose SOS because I want them to be exposed to the reality of life
02:44and I want them to be grateful.
02:47For me, the more beauty they will see, the more grateful they will be.
02:53In SOS, Nivia celebrates the birthday of her baby girls every year.
02:59Every Christmas, they also visit the center to feel the love for the children.
03:05Not all storms are meant to destruct us.
03:09Struggles are meant to make us stronger and a better person.
03:17If you get what you want, it's God's direction.
03:20If you don't get what you want, it's God's protection.
03:24From GMA Regional TV and GMA Integrated News,
03:28Zan Kilantang Sasa is open 24 hours a day.
