00:04A new Aldie supermarket planned for a disused quarry on the outskirts of a Derbyshire town

00:09could create 50 jobs. Aldie has submitted plans for its new supermarket in the former

00:14Harveydale quarry in Dale Road at Matlock. The site is currently occupied by the former

00:19Derbyshire County Council officers in John Hadfield House, which it has vacated along

00:24with an MOT garage. These buildings would be demolished to make way for the new supermarket

00:29and its car park. If approved by Derbyshire Dales District Council, the new Aldie supermarket

00:35would cover a smaller footprint than that of the current buildings, providing 92 car

00:39parking spaces and 4 electric vehicle charging points. The application says that the scheme

00:44would also create 50 new jobs. A decision will be made by the District Council in the

00:49proposal over the next few months.

00:53Bus company Stagecoach has announced 2025 ticket fares for Derbyshire, with prices set

00:58to increase. As the £2 national fare cap scheme is set to end on December 31st, single

01:04bus fares across Derbyshire will see an increase from Wednesday January 1st. Stagecoach has

01:09announced that new ticket prices and many single journeys will remain below the national

01:13fare cap of £3. Evening rider tickets, which currently cost £3, will see an increase to

01:19£4, while Chesterfield Child Silver Day rider tickets, now £3.70, will rise to £4 from

01:26January 1st. Chesterfield Day Rider and Mega Rider tickets are set to be scrapped in January,

01:32with the tickets bought this year still valid up to their expiry date. Stagecoach has confirmed

01:38that the prices for specific single journeys across Derbyshire will be available to check

01:42online from an online journey planner from Friday December 20th.
