00:15the film's producers, as is Jay Roach, who directed the first two movies. John Hamburg,
00:20who worked on the screenplay for the 2000 original and the two subsequent sequels,
00:24is writing the script. A director has not yet been announced.
00:28Meet the Parents focuses on a nurse, played by Stiller, who is having trouble getting accepted
00:32by his girlfriend's overbearing father, played by De Niro. The film surpassed $330 million at
00:38the global box office. The 2004 sequel, Meet the Fockers, was even bigger, collecting $522 million
00:45worldwide. Another film, Little Fockers, was released in 2010. During a 2022 interview with
00:51The Hollywood Reporter to promote his comedy Me Time, Hamburg was cagey when asked if another
00:55Meet the Parents sequel could happen. He said,
00:58I will refrain from discussing that question, but I love everybody involved,
01:02and we all are still in touch, and I think that's all I'm gonna say on that.
