00:00Dallas Cowboys guard Zach Martin has been nominated for the Walter Payton Man of the
00:09Year award, but will also undergo season-ending ankle surgery, and he won't play another
00:14down this season.
00:15The Cowboys were hoping to get him back in time for the Monday night football game against
00:19the Bengals, but his two-and-a-half-week rehab period just didn't quite pan out the way
00:25that Dallas had hoped.
00:27He's gonna be missed, head coach Mike McCarthy said.
00:29We're not gonna replace Zach Martin by any means.
00:32He has been here in Dallas for his whole career, but what he gives us as a person, he makes
00:38people gravitate to him, and he does a really good job of bringing people together.
00:43A first-round pick in 2014, nine Pro Bowls, and seven first-team All-Pro selections, McCarthy
00:49said it's his leadership that they will miss the most.
