00:07Endowment Board's procurement of a golden chariot for Thaipusam five years ago.

00:12A source told FMT that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission received a complaint several months

00:18ago, alleging that the chariot was not pure gold as claimed and the board had overpaid

00:23for the purchase.

00:24Yesterday, Ramasamy, who was the PHEB chairman from 2010 to 2023, was barred from leaving

00:31the country by immigration officers at the Penang International Airport.

00:36He was later informed that he had been blacklisted following a directive from MACC.

00:41The MACC source said it was very normal for a travel ban to be placed on individuals being

00:47probed.

00:48However, Ramasamy said claims that the chariot was made with substandard materials were misleading

00:54He explained that the RM800,000 chariot was gold-plated rather than made with solid gold.
