00:00UMNO was the recipient of money from a gargantuan slush fund from SRC International,

00:07Sendiran Behad, and its subsidiaries, the High Court heard today.

00:11SRC International's lawyer, Razlan Hajri Zulkifli, said billions of ringgit from

00:16Retirement Fund Incorporated had been diverted, embezzled, and abused.

00:21The plaintiffs, SRC International, Gandingan Mentari Sendiran Behad,

00:26and Jundila Pinggiran Sendiran Behad, alleged that the funds transferred under the guise

00:31of corporate social responsibility were wrongfully paid to UMNO Headquarters and Selangor UMNO.

00:37Razlan stated that SRC International was initially established to herald a new

00:42era of energy independence for the nation, but became a tool for deception.

00:47He said the plaintiffs' claim against the defendants was for the recovery of

00:51RM16 million and RM3.5 million wrongfully paid by JPSB.

00:57However, Razlan said the plaintiffs are not alleging any wrongdoing or breach on the part

01:02of the defendants in assisting the wrongdoers in diverting the RM19.5 million.

01:08The roles of Najib Razak, along with SRC's directors and senior management,

01:13will be examined as part of the proceedings.
