00:00All right, order of business in a state we discuss not that often, Wyoming, one of the

00:07smaller sports betting states that has kind of, you know, drawn themselves into the news

00:12today.

00:13I know that there was an article up at PlayUSA about some potential iGaming coming to Wyoming

00:18and it would seem to me pretty plausible there, you know, not a lot of legislation to pass

00:22through.

00:23How quickly can this get done?

00:24Yeah, I mean, it seems like a pretty plausible situation here.

00:29We've talked about it, I think a few weeks ago, a few months ago on this show about a

00:33study that was done this summer, kind of taking a look at what could be done in the Wyoming

00:39gaming industry to better contribute to the state's tax funds.

00:46And sure enough, they found online casino would be a great addition for this population.

00:51It's a very small population, smallest in the U.S., you know, operators haven't been

00:55super excited about the sports betting performance or lack thereof, I suppose, because it is

01:01so small.

01:02But again, as we were talking, there hasn't been a lot of movement in the last couple

01:06of years of online casino and that's where these companies want to be.

01:09That's where they want to get the money from, because again, it is way more lucrative than

01:13sports betting.

01:15And so, you know, already just within weeks of this study being finalized and published

01:20and presented to the Wyoming Gaming Commission, Representative Robert Davis said, you know

01:25what, I like this idea, I'm going to put together a bill and it will be introduced

01:29as soon as the session starts up in January.

01:32You know, he said it's going to be a lot like the sports betting process in Wyoming, which

01:37was a lot of education, but it was fairly streamlined back in 2021.

01:40It wasn't, there wasn't a ton of opposition.

01:44So it'll be, some of these committee hearings will certainly be a lot of the industry spokespeople

01:51coming in saying, hey, this is what we do.

01:53This is the protections we put in place.

01:55This is how this is going to help your state get rid of the black market and all those

02:00types of things.

02:01So it'll be interesting, I guess, to see if it does end up passing this year.

02:07But it is again, as we've seen, you know, in Ohio, a bill introduced to just get the

02:12conversation going, kind of the same way we've seen in Louisiana.

02:17So some of these states that didn't get on that really early first wave, you know, the

02:22Michigan's, the Pennsylvania, the New Jersey's, again, a lot of education, a lot of showing

02:28people and making sure you understand it.

02:29Because when you watch these legislative meetings, a lot of people don't understand the industry.

02:35A lot of people don't understand technology.

02:37You see a lot of people not understanding geo comply or the geofencing technology and

02:42how very targeted and very accurate it is.

02:47Things like that, that need to be taught to these legislators and regulators really

02:52sometimes, too.

02:53So it's really it'll be fun to watch, I think.
