00:00The statistic of one young person every four minutes facing homelessness is shocking. That
00:07amounts to almost 23,000 young people facing homelessness this winter. And we see a huge
00:14impact of that experience on the young people that we work with in Centrepoint. Firstly,
00:19many of our young people prior to experiencing homelessness come from very traumatic, difficult
00:24backgrounds. But even the process of being homeless can also further compound that early
00:29trauma. And we often see young people facing anxiety, depression, sometimes PTSD. Often
00:38there's a huge impact on their self-esteem.
00:40And there's just not enough support out there. We know that it's harder and harder for people
00:45to afford accommodation. It's a lot harder for people to move out of the family home
00:50when they want to, let alone when they're forced to. We can make a difference when people
00:54do contact us. We can offer that reassurance.
