00:25numbers having tripled since last year she said the charity tracks growing demand for help with
00:31mental health food and dental care joyce added there are still not enough properties to people
00:38half the funding needs to go towards providing enough properties to accommodate those rough
00:43sleeping and half needs to go towards helping them rebuild their lives she said further investment
00:49was needed for aftercare support particularly for those recently housed or released from prison
00:55there is not enough support to combat everything needed to keep them off the streets she said
01:00she added i just think they need to consider the full picture everything needs readdressing
01:07a leeds city council report said the grant would focus on areas with heightened public health and
01:12safety concerns including the city center and south leeds where visible drug use and drug
01:19related activity have escalated a government spokesperson added through our renters rights act we are
01:25accelerating efforts to tackle the root cause of homelessness by abolishing section 21 no-fault evictions
01:33they added we're also investing 2.9 million pound in homelessness services in leeds including the 1.2
01:41million pound uplift announced last month
