Sunderland academy turned into an Elf School with a visit from Santa himself

Plains Farm Academy was transformed into an Elf School for the day.

00:12Good girl.

00:14What do you want, Santa?

00:24You step out.

00:26Okay, and Mrs Cassie, just tell me what Elf Day is all about then, please.

00:32Elf Day is our favourite day in the Plainsform calendar.

00:36It's where we turn Plainsform Academy into an elf school.

00:40So every member of staff dresses up as an elf.

00:44The children take part in some lovely activities.

00:46And of course we have Mr and Mrs Santa Claus here as well.

00:50Who arrived in a Porsche this year.

00:52Grandfather Porsche.

00:54And so what are some of the activities the kids will be doing then?

00:58They have hot chocolate and marshmallows.

01:00And then they make snowmen marshmallows.

01:04They can decorate those.

01:06In the classroom they make Christmas cards, calendars.

01:10Lots of lovely festive activities to get them in the mood for Santa.

01:14I understand you've invited the local playgroup along as well, is that right?

01:18Yes, we did.

01:20We asked the Youth Almighty children's group to attend.

01:24And they absolutely love it.

01:26So they're on the yard greeting Santa and Mrs Claus.

01:30And then they go and visit the man himself who's in our shed.

01:50I love marshmallows.

01:54OK then Marnie, how excited are you that it's elf day today then?

01:58So excited.

02:00And what are some of the things you like doing on elf day?

02:02Meeting Santa and Christmas and getting all the presents.

02:08And do you like dressing up as an elf?

02:10Yes.

02:12And what about you Dottie, what's the best thing for you about elf day?

02:14Meeting Santa as well.

02:16You get to see everyone in the elf garments all dressed up.

02:18And everyone just feeling nice and Christmassy.

02:22Have you got your list ready to tell me what you want for Christmas?

02:24Yes.

02:26Have you been good?

02:28Yes.

02:30OK, and Santa, have all the kids been telling you what they want for Christmas?

02:32Oh, we've got lots of things on the list this year.

02:34Lots of excited children.

02:36Lots of people on the good list, but there's one or two on the naughty list as well.

02:38Are you looking forward to the big day?

02:40We can't wait. Me and Mrs Claus are over the moon.

02:42We're looking forward to it.
