Heavy rain in Klang, Sepang causes floods, 311 victims moved to evacuation centres

The Selangor government has opened two temporary relief centres to accommodate some 311 flood victims affected by the flood. The number is on the rise as parts of the state experiences continuous downpour.

They are located at the SK Binjai School and Bukit Kapar Community Centre.

Continuous rains in Meru and Kapar on Thursday night resulted in massive floods in the areas,

with floodwaters overflowing drains and inundating homes on Friday.

Several areas in Sepang were also not spared.

The roads leading to Kota Warisan, Bandar Salak Tinggi and Kuala Lumpur International Airport

were cut off by floodwaters in the morning.

The total number of evacuees nationwide jumped to 94,778 as of 4pm.

Kelantan remained the worst-hit state with 63,761 flood victims,
