Heavy rain floods Bangkok, disrupts traffic and prompts evacuations

Incessant rain flooded parts of Bangkok, Thailand, on Saturday, Sept. 27, disrupting traffic and prompting thousands of residents to evacuate as authorities declared all 50 districts a flood disaster area.  More than 30 centimeters (11.8 inches) of rain had accumulated in many areas of the capital since Thursday, causing floodwaters to spread across central and eastern parts of the city.
