00:00When you were, if you were to tear out the NFC, are you looking at a situation that it's
00:08like Lions, Eagles, Tier 1, a few other teams in Tier 2, Lions on their own tier, Philly
00:16with a Green Bay, Minnesota, like how are you viewing the contest?
00:18I look at, like you see the odds up on the screen right now, for me Tier 1 is the Detroit
00:22Lions and the reason I bring that up is, when you make the NFC playoffs, because I'm trying
00:26to extrapolate and see how it goes long term, they're the number one seed which means they
00:29get to buy, what a massive advantage.
00:32They are only going to have to play like one of the other quote unquote teams before we
00:36actually get involved in the NFC championship game.
00:38That's why they're on the top tier.
00:39I'd say the same thing right now if the Philadelphia Eagles had the number one seed and it looks
00:43like they were going to take that down.
00:44So let's move to Detroit.
00:45Here's what I'm struggling with here because you do look at the other teams that will be
00:49winning divisions, right?
00:50Let's just say it's the Seattle Seahawks that do sit now.
00:52Let's just say it's the Atlanta Falcons.
00:54I'm not worried one iot about those teams.
00:56Here's the problem that's going to be in the playoffs.
00:58The Vikings are 9-2 on the season, the same as the Philadelphia Eagles.
01:02You take a look here at the Green Bay Packers at 8-3.
01:04They don't get a lot of love.
01:05Why?
01:06Because the Detroit Lions sit in their own division.
01:07Like if you spread them out and said, okay, Minnesota's out west, whoa, watch out for
01:11them.
01:12The Packers are in the NFC South.
01:13Oh my goodness, that's a really legitimate team.
01:15They're very good, but I can't gauge them because they are going to be better football
01:19teams possibly than the teams they open up in the wild card round outside of the Philadelphia
01:23Eagles.
01:24So for me, you have the Lions slightly above the Philadelphia Eagles, and then you have
01:27that tier of the Eagles, the Vikings, and the Packers for me, Joe.
01:31But the Packers and the Vikings coming in as roughly 11 or 12 win teams in the wild
01:36card?
01:37Yeah.
01:38Insane.
01:39Yeah, I do agree with you on Green Bay and Minnesota, but I disagree.
01:40I do believe it's Detroit and Philadelphia.
01:42I needed to see that defense from Philadelphia come around, and they have, Kev.
01:47I told you, that turning point was against Cincinnati and Joe Burrow when they held that
01:52offense to 17 points, completely shut them out in the second half, and they've been on
01:56a heater ever since.
01:58What have they won?
01:59Nine games with Nick Sirianni, and that dominance on Sunday night over L.A., a team that's still
02:04fighting for a wild card berth, they dominated them on both sides of the football.
02:08So again, I put Philadelphia with Detroit in terms of that tier.
02:13I think it's Green Bay and Minnesota and everybody else.
02:15The reason why I give the edge to Green Bay over Minnesota is, again, in a playoff type
02:20of situation, I'd much rather back Jordan Love that did it last year, almost knocked
02:25off San Francisco, than Sam Darnold.
02:27Again, he could be great during the regular season.
02:30I need to see it in terms of the playoff.
02:32But Minnesota is still, to me, head and shoulders above Atlanta, Washington, because of the
02:37defense.
02:38Now, I know they gave up 27 points last week and Caleb threw for 330, but for much of the
02:43regular season, they have the second-best rush defense in all of the NFL.
02:47I gotta believe that that will carry through unless they fall off a cliff in the next five
02:52weeks.
02:54If you want an outlier, if they do get in, it would be Baker and Tampa Bay.
02:58I know they've dealt with injuries, but again, Baker's a gunslinger, and the way they can
03:02run the football in that defense, to me, they show me something if they can make a run.
