00:00The report on trafficking in persons says in 2022 the Ministry of National
00:06Security's counter-trafficking unit received 103 reports of suspected cases
00:12of human trafficking. Authorities reportedly screened 126 people for human
00:18trafficking indicators and of that number 15 were deemed potential victims.
00:24Among the troubling findings the report says more minors are being exploited in
00:29TNT and according to the report in 2022 81% of all victims were Venezuelan
00:37nationals. Authorities are linking this to unprecedented numbers of Venezuelans
00:43migrating to TNT. So what is law enforcement doing about it? Well the
00:48report says in 2022 12 people were detained for questioning and seven
00:53people were eventually charged with trafficking in children, sexual assault
00:58and other related offenses. But the greatest challenge for the CTU is with
01:03supporting victims and suspected victims of human trafficking. As the report says
