00:00Now time for a look at tonight's weather forecast with Josette.
00:05Thanks Disha, Trinidad and Tobago. It's Tuesday and before we get into today's weather I wanted
00:10to take a moment to wish all our male viewers at home a very happy International Men's Day.
00:15To all the fellas grinding hard whether you're at work, chilling with family or just holding it down
00:20we see you and today is all about celebrating you. Now let's talk about that weather. If you woke up
00:26this morning and thought why is the rain so heavy well you are definitely not alone. We had some
00:31early showers in parts of southwest Tobago and south Trinidad with a bit of thunder too.
00:37If you're along the east-west corridor you could have noticed the cloudy skies with some rain here
00:42and there. Temperatures stayed warm though 31 degrees Celsius in Trinidad and 29 in Tobago
00:47so warm and sticky but at least that rain gave us some a little bit of relief.
00:52Going into tonight Trinidad I'd strongly suggest keeping your fan nearby as it's looking like a
00:57warm one. Almost 29 degrees Celsius is expected. For Tobago you might want to grab a nice warm cup
01:04of tea before cozying up in bed as it's looking a little colder for you with temperatures expecting
01:09to be as low as 25. Looking ahead to tomorrow expect more or the same. Mostly cloudy skies,
01:15some light showers so yep that umbrella still needs to be your best friend or brain boots if
01:21you're working for Spain like I do. Temperatures will dip a little to around 30 degrees Celsius in
01:26Trinidad and 30 in Tobago but it's still going to feel a little bit warm especially with all
01:31that humidity that's happening. For my early risers here's your heads up. Tomorrow you'll
01:36be able to catch that sunrise at 6.03 in Trinidad and 6.01 in Tobago. Sunset will be at 5.39 in
01:42Trinidad and 5.56 in Tobago. If you're engaging in any kind of marine activity or looking to take a
01:49midweek dip know that seas are moderate so do exercise caution out there. Waves are looking to
01:54be roughly 1.5 to 2 meters in open waters but nearly a meter in some sheltered areas. Now here's
02:01a look at our tide times.
02:20Now over in Grenada they're still dealing with the effects of that trough that's passing through the region.
02:26The island got hit with some heavy rain flooding and even a couple landslides.
02:30Schools had to be closed today and there's still a flood and landslide warning that's in effect.
02:35Our friends in St. Vincent and the Grenadines are also feeling it too. Reports coming out of the
02:39island talk about landslides and land slippages as unstable weather is affecting the island.
02:45A flash flood warning was also issued. So far reports indicate that a family of five is without
02:50a roof over their heads after their house was washed away in a landslide. So that sends some
02:55good vibes and positive thoughts to our regional brothers and sisters.
02:59All right folks and that was your weather update for today. Stay safe, stay dry and remember to
03:04show some love to the men in your life today.
