CDC Probes E. Coli Outbreak Tied To Organic Carrots Under Trader Joe’s, Wegmans, Sprouts, Target

The CDC is investigating an E. coli outbreak linked to organic carrots from Grimmway Farms, impacting at least eighteen states. Thirty-nine cases have been reported since September, resulting in fifteen hospitalizations and one death. The recall involves baby and whole organic carrots with best-by dates from September 11th to November 12th, sold under brands like Trader Joe’s, Wegmans, Sprouts, and Good & Gather. Grimmway Farms warns these products may still be in homes and urges disposal or return. E. coli symptoms typically appear 3-4 days after exposure, with children, seniors, and those with weakened immune systems at higher risk.
