The more extensive outbreak has affected 119 individuals in 36 states, resulting in 32 hospitalizations, with illnesses linked to Live it Up Super Greens powder and other supplements containing moringa. A distinct outbreak has impacted 18 people in 14 states, associated with Mogo brand moringa capsules that were recalled on May 25. 00:04tied to Moringa leaf supplements, and federal health officials say recalled products may
00:09still be sitting in your home right now. The larger outbreak has now sickened 119 people
00:15across 36 states with 32 hospitalizations. It's linked to Live It Up Super Greens powder
00:22and other Moringa-containing products. A second separate outbreak has sickened 18 people across 14
00:28states. Tied to Mogo brand Moringa capsules recalled just last week, if you have any of these products
00:34at home, the CDC's instruction is direct. Throw them out now or return them to the store. Do not use
00:41them. Moringa supplements have grown significantly in popularity in recent years, marketed as a
00:48superfood. This outbreak is a reminder that dietary supplements are not regulated the same way
00:54pharmaceutical drugs are, and contamination can occur at any point in the supply chain.
00:59Salmonella causes roughly 1.3 million infections in the U.S. every year.
