00:00Tempaso Assemblyman Arsad Bestari said his remarks heard in a viral video allegedly linked
00:07to the Sabah Assemblyman's corruption case were made in jest.
00:11In a statement, Arsad claimed the recording was edited and circulated with malicious intent,
00:16adding that he was already aware of the ill-intention of the person he was conversing with, adding
00:21that it is inappropriate to view the conversation as a confession or legal violation, Buritaharian

00:29Arsad asserted that allegations of him receiving commissions were baseless slander aimed at
00:33damaging his reputation and reiterated his respect for Sabah Finance Minister Masidi
00:38Manjun and Chief Minister Haji Jinnur in the awarding of project licenses.
00:43He denied blaming these ministers for any project delays, explaining that he merely
00:47referenced the complexities of large project approvals in Sabah.
00:52Arsad expressed his readiness to cooperate with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission
00:56and is considering legal action against those distorting his statements, urging the media
01:00to report fairly and allow due legal processes.
