00:00Welcome everybody, my name's Benji Jackson and let's take a look at this year's favourites
00:08to pick up the vaunted Christmas number one in the UK chart.
00:14I know what you're thinking, it's November and it is a heck of a time, way too early
00:19to look at this, but let's be honest, if you're a compulsive gambler, any time is a good time.
00:27At number five is Sidemen, the YouTube collective who are hoping to better their 2022 effort
00:32Christmas Drillings, as OLBG state their odds currently as of writing are 12 to 1.
00:39At number four is this year's John Lewis Christmas advert jingle Sonnet by Richard Ashcroft,
00:45with odds currently at 8 to 1, but it's still only November so there's every chance that
00:50earworm races into a more favourite position come December.
00:54At number three is the possibility of a song by One Direction or the late Liam Payne,
01:00a fitting tribute many 1Ders think would honour Payne after his tragic death.
01:05At number two is Wham! Last Christmas, which earned the crown of 2023's Christmas number
01:11one after coming so close seasons before only to be pipped by songs about sausage rolls.
01:20At number one is Sabrina Carpenter with odds of 1 to 1, evens as we call it in the business,
01:26and after her meteoric rise throughout 2024, who could blame the bookies thinking she'll
01:30earn the Christmas crown alongside the multitude of plaudits she already has gained.
01:35But again, it's November and anything can change, so join us again in December when
01:40we find out who the final favourites are for the race for the UK top 40 Christmas number
01:45one.
01:46Until then, party on Christmas people, I've been Benji and you as always have been incredibly
01:52patient.
