00:00The government wants Bangladesh to clarify the purpose of its request to extradite two

00:06businessmen, Bestinet Sundaram Berhad founder Aminul Islam and his associate Ruhul Amin.

00:13Home Minister Saifuddin Nasruddin Ismail said DAKA should explain whether Aminul and Ruhul

00:18were needed for questioning as part of an investigation or if they were to be charged

00:23in court.

00:25He said the extradition request did not reveal the purpose.

00:29He said if DAKA's intent is to conduct investigations, they should use the mutual legal assistance

00:35channel, but if the purpose is to charge the individuals in court, they should clarify

00:39this in the extradition request.

00:43Saifuddin said the duo can only be extradited if DAKA was pressing charges against them.

00:49He added that he had discussed Bangladesh's extradition request with the Attorney General

00:54and Inspector General of Police.

00:57He said the IGP will handle the issue and liaise with his Bangladeshi counterparts on

01:01the matter.
