00:00The primary areas to feel the heat across Queensland are going to be those western,
00:06inland and southern parts of the state. All of those areas are being impacted by the low
00:11to severe intensity heatwaves at the moment, which is indicative of above average temperatures
00:16occurring day after day, interspersed with very, very warm nights as well. And the body
00:21simply can't recover from that hot weather. And that's what's triggering the severe heatwave
00:26conditions. So in those areas, particularly across inland Queensland, that equates to
00:30daytime temperatures in the high 30s, if not low 40s. And this, again, has been ongoing
00:36for days. So very little relief for those communities. Definitely one to have at the
00:40top of your priority list, keeping cool and keeping as hydrated as possible if you're
00:44impacted. Northern Territory has also been seeing persistent heatwaves over the recent
00:48weeks. And this weekend, even going into early next week is no different. Unfortunately,
00:53those low to severe intensity heatwaves will continue, particularly across the central
00:58and northern parts of the Northern Territory. So really, really hot conditions continuing,
01:03particularly felt about the coastal areas, which may see the humidity returning at times
01:08as well, really reinforcing how hot it actually feels.
