00:00Muhyiddin Yassin has expressed disappointment with the High Court's decision in the defamation

00:06suit brought by Lim Guan Ying over his statements on Yayasan Al-Bukhari.

00:12Earlier today, the court ordered him to pay Lim RM 1.35 million in damages and retract

00:19the three offending statements.

00:21In response, Muhyiddin said he respected the court's judgment and would be taking down

00:26the posts.

00:27However, he said he believed that his statements were not defamatory and the amount awarded

00:32by the court was excessive.

00:34Muhyiddin also ordered his lawyers to appeal against the court's decision.

00:38Lim said Muhyiddin had wrongly accused him of being involved in the government's decision

00:43to revoke Yayasan Al-Bukhari's tax exemption status.

00:47Lim said another statement also alleged that he had imposed a tax on the foundation and

00:52a 45% penalty on tax payable for preceding years.
